“Photosynthesis – carbon sequesterer;
Trees & algae balancing the scales.
Perhaps these silent ones will teach;
For every action a reaction the same.”

Phalanx Sketch
For almost all of 2020 I focused my art on the issue of Global Warming. This resulted in a series of 8-linked painting. All the images come from natural things such as trees, stones, bark, and earth aerials. Each interpretation tries to speak to the realities we are all facing.
From this detail of a London Plane tree’s bark came the first actual painting in this series; a possible answer to this global concern if we humans don’t do something.
Why are so reactionary rather proactive? I do believe we will come to terms with our short sightedness but at what cost?
