I know it is going to sound strange but after I took this picture and started to make sketches from it, my mood changed from somber (gray days) to happy – I was now in St Petersburg Florida and it was sunny. So I changed the colors and this New England autumn landscape quickly became something quite different – an expression of heartfelt joy for being alive; the joy of sunny color, of warm flesh. The wonderful complexity, interconnectedness and interdependence of a married couple and how warm and wonderful that is.
