“Snow & ice such reflecting power;
The albedo in a descending rush.
Dark waters improve global trade;
But what price for such rapid change.”

Methane Sketch
For almost all of 2020 I focused my art on the issue of Global Warming. This resulted in a series of 8-linked painting. All the images come from natural things such as trees, stones, bark, and earth aerials. Each interpretation tries to speak to the realities we are all facing.
An even smaller piece of burled tree trunk now becomes the melting ice and snow as the arctic opens up and the seas rise. Aerial photographs confirm that this is happening and because the water darker than snow the reflectiveness is diminished and the global heating accelerated.
