Or a view from an eagle’s eye?
A field of patterns
So much more than earth & sky.”

Field of Patterns
Ever since being introduced to the Fibonacci Numbers in Architectural school I have been fascinated by the power of this naturally occurring number sequence where the first number is added to the second number to get the third, the second is added to the third to get the fourth and so on.
This sequence is found in nature’s structural organizations and there is an inherent beauty in what it yields. The ratio created by dividing any number in the sequence by its precedent number is known as the “Golden Section.” As the sequence proceeds this ratio narrows down to 1.618 (the Greeks believed this was divine.)
I took two number sequences and tried to create a pattern of intersecting lines based on them. The first sequence is (1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21…), the second one consists of every other number in the first sequence, which yields (1,3,4,7,11,18,29…) The resultant pattern created a field of patterns, in my mind as well as visually on a more literal level.
